Local Training Providers Win Contract to Strengthen Skills and Job Prospects in Liverpool City Region

A consortium of independent training providers has successfully won a tender worth £1million per year to deliver Adult Education Budget funded training in Liverpool City Region over the next three years.
The contract, which is worth £1m per year for up to three years, will see kickstart2employment, Genesis Jobs and The Rotunda working together to engage with adult learners in Liverpool City Region with a view to developing skills and progressing participants into sustainable employment. This programme has been funded by the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority’s Adult Education Budget. Through this training provision, the consortium will work closely with local employers to identify and address the skills gaps that impact the region’s growth potential.
The Liverpool City Region Combined Authority launched a Skills Strategy in preparation for the devolution of the Adult Education Budget (AEB). The Authority has been keen to develop effective relationships with training providers, colleges and local authority providers of adult and community learning in an effort to establish a positive long-term impact on learners in Liverpool City Region. The aim of delivering the AEB successfully for the region is to help more people gain long-term employment and thrive in the workplace.
The consortium will be working collaboratively to ensure learner needs are met whilst working to the requirements of the Skills Strategy. The partners are committed to developing motivated learners by building confidence, raising aspirations and enhancing overall wellbeing. A flexible training provision has been developed, which will enable the partners to respond quickly to the needs of the local economy.
Operating throughout the Northwest and North Wales within a group of companies that includes Gap Personnel, kickstart2employment (k2e) offers an extensive training provision, which includes sector-based work academies, apprenticeships and bespoke training programmes. Over the years, the company has worked with society’s most vulnerable individuals, including looked-after children, care leavers, ex-service personnel, the homeless and ex-offenders, giving them new skills and employment opportunities.
Genesis Jobs is a not-for-profit community enterprise operating in St Helens and Knowsley. The company provides high quality training whilst identifying suitable employment opportunities for some of the most deprived communities in the area.
The Rotunda is a 33 year old community-led charity located in Liverpool. As experts in responsive community learning, the charity offers a wealth of services, including education for young people and adults, counselling and legal advice. Its highly experienced team specialises in enabling the long-term unemployed through bespoke education and support.
