kickstart2employment Secures Collaborative Training Partnerships In the Northwest
(Posted on 07/12/16)
kickstart2employment, Wrexham’s leading vocational and commercial training provider, also known as k2e, has secured collaborative partnerships with Local Authority Cheshire West & Chester and Hugh Baird College in Bootle to drive training opportunities in the Northwest of England.
k2e provides a one-stop training solution by facilitating the delivery of funded and commercial training programmes. The company is currently managing the delivery of a range of courses, including COSHH, Safe Working on Highways, CPC and C1 Upgrade at Cheshire West & Chester’s Ellesmere Port depot. An apprenticeship programme is also being piloted in conjunction with Hugh Baird College in Bootle, as Dave Cupit of Cheshire West & Chester explains:
“We initially met with kickstart2employment to discuss the ongoing provision of CPC training for our drivers but were soon assessing the training needs across all our services. We were very interested to explore the possibility of acquiring funding for apprenticeships, which k2e advised would support the development of existing staff via a local FE College. Having reviewed all our training needs in partnership with k2e, we are now due to commence pilot programmes for ten Chargehands and ten Street Cleansing Operatives, which will be funded via Hugh Baird College in Bootle. As part of an ongoing training needs analysis, it is our intention to offer every member of staff the opportunity to develop their existing skills or promote the uptake of new skills; this will allow us to continue to improve the service we offer the customers of Cheshire West & Chester Council.”
Commenting on securing these latest partnerships, Julian Hughes, said:
“At kickstart2employment we actively collaborate with other training providers, FE Colleges and employers to ensure staff development is a straightforward and painless process. We understand that employers are under increasing pressure to ensure their workforce is suitably skilled in order to comply with legal requirements whilst providing a good product or service. We use our knowledge of the training sector to facilitate a one-stop solution for our clients, which integrates both funded and commercial training. We are proud to have forged a good working relationship with Hugh Baird College and Cheshire West & Chester so that a quality training provision can be put into place for people working in the Northwest of England.
Additionally we have worked tirelessly to identify the best possible resources locally to deliver a host of training programmes. We have long since held the belief that training opportunities in the UK can be strengthened by combining the differing but complementary skills of the education and commercial sectors to deliver better outcomes for learners. Being able to tap into specialist skills through collaboration is key to our company vision. We are therefore delighted to be working with Adapt UK and P&G Training who will deliver specialist training to strengthen skills in environmental and commercial roles.”
