k2e Launches Eco Task Force

(Posted on 08/10/18)

kickstart2employment has launched an Eco Task Force in an effort to create a greener working environment for employees, clients and candidates.

Luke Williams and Emily Swithenbank-Harris have been appointed as Ambassadors for Eco-Innovation at k2e. They will be responsible for educating colleagues regarding best environmental practices whilst implementing smart solutions across the business.

A number of key pledges have been made by the Task Force.

Reduction of Single-Use Plastics
kickstart2employment has provided reusable water bottles for office-based staff and all employees have signed a pledge to significantly reduce the use of single-use plastics both at work and home.

Reduction of Energy Consumption
Employees have also pledged to turn off devices when they are not in use. Everyone is encouraged to turn off devices over night.

Improving Recycling Activities
Having completed a comprehensive waste review, the Task Force is installing a number of recycling bins throughout the business to reduce unnecessary waste.

Commitment to Green Dragon Environmental Standard
kickstart2employment is working towards achieving the Green Dragon Environment status. This standard is awarded to organisations that take action to understand, monitor and control their impacts on the environment.

Commenting on the launch of the Eco Task Force, Luke Williams said:

“At kickstart2employment, we are committed to significantly improving our green credentials. By encouraging our colleagues to sign up to a range of pledges, Emily and I hope to transform the way we approach key environmental issues. Our aim is to change behaviours for the better. Everyone has embraced our policies and we are all working hard to achieve a greener future at kickstart2employment.”
